You’ll Go Further with the Right People Around You
— in Running, in Finance, in Life
This past Saturday, I ran a 10K.
Just six days before, I could barely run 6K without gasping for air and questioning all my life choices.
I was tired, out of rhythm, and honestly, doubting whether I could pull off the race at all.
But on race day?
I didn’t feel the distance until around the 8K mark. The energy was different. The challenge felt lighter. I was still pushing, still sweating — but I wasn’t dragging.
I was running with people. Not just next to them but with them.
Strangers, yes, but also teammates in some shared pursuit.
We were aligned in intention, if not in pace. And not doing it alone made all the difference.
It got me thinking about how much that same principle applies in finance.
Because let’s be honest — navigating today’s financial world is not for the faint of heart.
Inflation, housing costs, volatile markets, and now, a rising global tariff war. These ripple effects aren’t just headlines — they impact real people, real businesses, and real decisions.
Whether you're building wealth, starting a business, buying your first home, or just trying to keep up, doing it alone can feel like trying to finish a race you're not sure you're trained for.
That’s where the financial community comes in.
I don’t just mean your friend who trades stocks on the side or the influencer who seems to be travelling the world.
I mean real community — advisors who listen, peers who share their journeys, people who hold you accountable to your goals.
People who know the terrain and won’t let you give up at 6K when they know you can hit 10.
Because in moments of uncertainty — like when global tariffs shake the economy or interest rates shift overnight — it’s easy to panic, pull back, or make reactive decisions.
But if you’ve got a team around you? You’re steadier. Smarter. Stronger.
The right community helps you run your financial race with more confidence and resilience.
They help you pace yourself.
They remind you of your strength.
And sometimes, they show you that you’re capable of a lot more than you thought.
So whether you’re training for a marathon or mapping out your financial future, don’t do it alone.
Surround yourself with people who are going where you want to go.
You’ll get there faster. You’ll go further. And you’ll enjoy the journey a whole lot more.
You’re not alone.
